Read this online about gun control and thought I’d share
Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home. It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine. Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room...
Jury, Not What Is Your Verdict, But Why?
How can a jury's verdict be GUILTY? When the testimony is given by an alleged corrupt cop that has been indicted by the State of Alabama. WAKE UP! Barbour County, WAKE UP! When will justice be served? A jury of my peers, please! How can a corrupt cop testify against anyone? A jury can find a man guilty on the testimony of a cop that has charges pending against him by the State of Alabama. Only in Barbour County, Alabama. ...
HELLO PEOPLE WE HAVE A PROBLEM!
It's a sad day in the united states when a parent can go to jail for spanking their child but the schools can hit them with a wood paddle. Crime is at a all time high and I wonder why? You as a parent can't spank your child to correct bad behavior so what happens, they go out into the real world and become thugs, thieves, criminals etc. Then the government (state and federal) want to blame you and call...
Crossed The Line
I am one of those people that likes to cruise around the internet and check out all the websites for news and views from all over. It never ceases to amaze me how the media can twist and turn events to suit themselves. No doubt there are some non-biased news reporters, and some subjects just don’t matter, but for the most part, reporters have opinions just like everybody else. What I really find problematic is that some folks will use...
“Rosco P. Coltrane Type Law Enforcement”
READERS, PLEASE NOTE: Below, you will find a copy of the body of a letter, revised with some rewording, The Dothan Eagle declined to print in it’s entirety. To meet the paper’s 300 word limit, I created a shorter version that I think of as only a summary, leaving out much detail. That summary was printed in their August 15, 2010 issue. However, they chose the title “Angry about traffic ticket.” I want my readers to know after three years,...
The Trial of Vincent Trawick
I'm making my comment on the trial of Vincent Trawick. How can you convict a man of murder when you have no weapon, No DNA, quite frankly just no evidence point blank. My opinion is that it's just not possible. I feel he's being railroaded. The Trawick family is not now, nor has it ever been a threat to anyone. Instead of convicting him of a crime that I believe in my heart he didn't commit.Stacey Taylor...

Keep the kids in school
There is a lady who is raising her grandchildren because their mom died a couple years ago of cancer. They go to Rehobeth and need new school clothes and she is on a very fixed income and does not have the funds. She has recently had a stroke and spent time in the hospital and is now undergoing chemo for cancer herself as well as now being on oxygen. She is very frail and yet tries to keep the children in school. The oldest one is an A student but is talking about quitting to work full time to help. If anyone can be of any help or knows where to go for help please email staci@dothaneyenews.com.
High Teacher Salary or higher Education?
According to the article posted by Blake McCallister about teacher salaries in Alabama, we are above the national average in the amount our new teachers get paid than in other states. However, our teachers starting off better paid leads to a few questions.
First of all, does this in any way reflect the quality of the material being taught in our educational system here in Alabama? does our teachers getting paid better mean that our students are receiving any better education than in other states?
