Dothan’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is Rescheduled
The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony was scheduled for November 30th at 6:00 p.m. It has been rescheduled for December 9th at 6:00 p.m. due to the weather. The Ceremony takes place in the Civic Center parking lot, and the public is invited!The Montana Magnet School's 5th Grade Chorus, under Kim Price's direction, will be singing Christmas Carols. Mayor Mike Schmitz along with the Dothan City Commission will also be there. The Guest of Honor, without question, will be Santa Claus....

A wreck occurred on Mance Newton Road near Michelin today around 1:30 p.m. The Dothan Fire Department advised that there was entrapment. Pilchers Ambulance also responded to the scene. Dothan Fire Department extricated the victims and one was taken to Flowers Hospital and the other was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center. The fatality is a child, approximately 2 years old. Dothan Police and Dothan Fire responded to a wreck this morning at the intersection of Honeysuckle Road and Hartford Highway. A pickup truck overturned and a blue mustang convertible was badly damaged on the drivers side. Care Ambulance did respond, but no one was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
