Crossed The Line
I am one of those people that likes to cruise around the internet and check out all the websites for news and views from all over. It never ceases to amaze me how the media can twist and turn events to suit themselves. No doubt there are some non-biased news reporters, and some subjects just don’t matter, but for the most part, reporters have opinions just like everybody else.
What I really find problematic is that some folks will use their blog, website or news site to publicly bash people and groups for no good reason. Such is the case with an article that is currently running on a local Tabloid site that actually ridicules some of the finest citizens in our city.
If you don’t like certain politicians for whatever reason I’m OK with that, but when you jump on a service club like the Rotary, you have crossed the line. These private citizens are not public fodder for some hired character assassin.
Just for the uninformed, the Dothan Rotary has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the handicapped children of our area to have a place to play. As the mother of one of those very special children I can tell you that nothing anyone could ever say or show me would change my mind about how great I think the Rotary Club is.
How anybody could support a website that is so rude, so mean, and so wrong is beyond me. I love our Sheriff, and could not think of voting for anyone else, but, I will not vote for any politician that runs an ad on that web-trash site. Make up your mind, do you want to fund this mean, uncalled for, trashing? Or let people know that you are a decent person and pull your ad.
I know that you will not print this, and that’s OK but I am not going to leave my name because I do not want to be the next victim of the Tabloid Blogger. I just hope that somehow these politicians will get the message that you can’t just put up an ad anywhere you want and expect we the people to stand by while you fund the kind of mean, negative things that is being said about fine people like the Rotary.
