This morning I tried to beat the heat with my grandchildren so we went to the Train Show being held at the Peanut Festival Fairgrounds. Although it was around 100 degrees when we left, they enjoyed it almost as much as I did. There were tables with trains and assorted parts and many other miscellaneous items. And of course there were train towns set up for us to watch and reminisce of days gone by. The children enjoyed all the moving and whistling of the trains going down the tracks. A larger train set up was done where you were able to just sit down on the floor and watch. So that is just what we did. Not sure who wanted to stay longer, me or them. They also had a train ride for the young ones outside, which of course parents and grandparents must enjoy with their little ones. Some of the train displays were put up by: Miracle Strip Model Railroad Club, Pensacola Model Railroad Club, WEST FLORIDA RAILROAD MUSEUM and another from Slapout, Alabama. These are just a few, could not grab cards for all of them with my hands full with the grandchildren. If you like trains or just meeting some friendly folks go on down to the train show. It goes until 5 today and then again (Sunday) tomorrow from 10-4. There is a $5 admission fee with small children free.
