Accident with Entrapment on Cottonwood Highway
LOVETOWN: Lovetown Fire was dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle accident with entrapment on Cottonwood Road in front of Pecan Park this afternoon at around 3:15. The call came out as vehicle versus truck, and at least one patient was still in the vehicle.
When units arrived on scene they found that the driver of a white SUV had struck a delivery truck in the rear causing major damage to the front end of her vehicle. An EMT quickly arrived on scene in his personal vehicle and began assessing the patient who was complaining of sever pain in her neck and back and leg. The patient was not entrapped in the vehicle, she just could not get her door open due to the amount of the damage her vehicle sustained in the accident.
Houston County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene and began directing traffic. Pilcher’s Ambulance responded to the scene and packaged the patient for transport after removing her from the vehicle. She was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lovetown Fire arrived and assisted with traffic control after the patient was loaded in the ambulance. Alabama State Troopers also responded to the scene, and will be in charge of the investigation into the cause of the accident.
